Car Slams Utility Pole, Goes Up In Flames On Hunterdon County Lawn (Photos)

One person was taken to a nearby hospital after a car slammed into a utility pole and went up in flames, landing on a Hunterdon County lawn early on Sunday, July 9, responders said.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Old Turnpike Road and Elliott Farm Road around 8:05 a.m., the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad said.

Crews found the car engulfed in flames after hitting a nearby pole and veering onto the front lawn of an adjacent home.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation as crews doused the blaze.

“Quick responses by all first responders prevented further loss of property,” said the TFARS.

Assisting agencies include the Oldwick Fire Company, the Fairmount Fire Company No. 1, and the Tewksbury Township Police Department.
